A digital platform built around how the organization actually operates.
I designed and developed PCNI Boston’s public website and membership platform, creating a custom WordPress theme from the ground up.
The site brings the organization’s mission, programs, events, news, galleries and membership information into a structured, maintainable digital experience.
A central requirement was accommodating the organization’s offline dues-collection process. I extended Paid Memberships Pro with a custom administrative workflow that allows membership approvals and payment records to be managed without requiring members to complete a conventional online checkout.
I also developed a more reliable gallery-content solution, enabled controlled SVG support and implemented performance and search optimizations. The project concluded with the migration of more than 500MB of content and data from a local SQLite development environment to a production MySQL server, including database corrections, media transfer and post-launch configuration—with no data loss.
Key outcomes
- Replaced the legacy website with a modern, maintainable digital platform
- Created a membership workflow aligned with the organization’s offline dues process
- Established a reusable custom-theme foundation for future projects
- Migrated a 500MB+ website to production without data loss
